One of my personal nutrition goals is to ensure I consume enough protein every day. Some days this can be challenging and I’m sure that I am not the only one who doesn’t have time to cook 3 balanced meals a day. To compensate for this I am always on the lookout for snacks that are high in protein. An easy source of protein are protein bars. Go into any grocery or health food store and you will shelves and shelves of nutrition bars. I’ve tried many of them and found a lot have no taste or worse taste like cardboard. Of all the ones I’ve tried the Zone Perfect Fudge Graham Bars are my favorite. I eat one every morning before I start my day.
Taste
These bars are honestly the tastiest protein or health bar I’ve tried. The outside has a chocolate coating and the inside is a mix of graham flavored crunchy bits, marshmallow pieces and large chocolate chips. I think this is as close to a candy bar as you will get without being an actual candy bar.
Nutritional Information
One bar contains 210 calories (7g of fat, 23g carbs, and 14g of protein.) You will find other bars that have much higher protein quantities but at some point you do sacrifice taste. The bars are also loaded with vitamins and contain 50% of your daily dose of vitamin C and large doses of all the other vitamins. Also if you look through the ingredient list below you will not see any artificial sweeteners or chemicals. These are made with all natural ingredients.
One disappointment with these bars is that their main ingredient is soy, which is a controversial source of protein. I would rather they be made with whey protein.
